DescriptionStorage jar or churn: elongated ovoid body rises to short neck with slightly outturned mouth; two squared lug handles applied at the high shoulder, one on each side of the neck, just below the rim; covered allover with a rich alkaline glaze. Evidence of hand and fingerprints at the interior of the mouth and at the foot where the potter grabbed the piece, and the glaze did not adhere. Two short but deep slash marks or impressions near the foot probably made by a metal tool.Mark(s)Several inches above the foot the pot is marked with two short deep slash marks or impressions probably made by a metal tool.
