During the 18th century, they were made in a variety of sizes and proportions, with the most common of the taller versions similar in appearance to this beaker. It was made by Samuel Danforth, a member of a prolific family of pewtersmiths working primarily in Connecticut.Mark(s)Inside bottom struck with a spread American eagle flanked by "S D," all in relief within a sawtooth circle. Mark is about 60% visible (Jacobs-107).probably 1880-1940
