DescriptionPunch ladle with a round bowl set with an everted rim and a pouring spout. Handle socket reinforced with a milled band around its mouth, and a heart-shaped escutcheon where it joins the bowl. Finely turned wooden handle with a swollen and reeded grip.Inscription(s)Bottom of bowl engraved "S.C.M".Mark(s)Struck twice on the bottom of the bowl with a conjoined "WH" in relief, within a rectangle.ProvenancePurchased from Jonathan Trace (Putnam Valley, NY) on March 15, 1981.
