DescriptionPortrait Figure of a barefoot Edwin “Nub” Meaders dressed in denim overalls and a short-sleeved collared shirt, holding a two-headed rooster.Label TextLin Craven came from a potting family, but her grandfather and father had left the craft before she was born. Without family to train her, she apprenticed with Bobby Ferguson in Gillsville, Georgia. She became known for her sculptural work, such as this piece, rather than more traditional utilitarian forms. Her figure of potter Edwin Meaders is symbolic of her strong link back to the potting traditions of White County, Georgia.
