Info
Colonial Williamsburg’s household accessories collection includes a widely diverse array of forms ranging from 17th-century tortoiseshell dressing caskets to 18th-century mouse traps. The collection is focused primarily on utilitarian objects that would have been found in British and American homes of the period, including bed warmers, baskets, walking sticks, spectacles, document boxes, trunks, writing equipment, pipe boxes, and dressing accessories, among others. Many of the works in the collection are on view in the Foundation’s historic buildings.
