DescriptionFloral design carpet. Design executed in cross stitch embroidery with approximately 64 cross stitches per square inch. The linen canvas is handwoven. Colors: Ground: field and borders--light brown; Pattern: white, yellow, pink, tan, light blue, medium blu, dark blue, light green, medium green, dark green, lilac, red-brown, and dark brown. The field has in the center a bouquet of flowers such as roses, tulips, carnations, lillies and other blossoms combined with leaves. In the corners of the field are cornucopias with flowers and leaves. The border has a row of various flowers such as roses, hyacinths, carnations, and others combined with leaves. The inner and outer guard bands have a pattern of classical cymatium.Construction History
