DescriptionSauce tureen (A) with cover (B) and stand (C). Shaped oval foot with tattered shell molding supports a shaped oval body with tattered shell molding on sides and edges. Conforming lid with shell-molded edges rises to curled ends and a low domed peak surmounted by a finial in the form of a leaf and flower bud. Body and lid are transfer printed in black with several different fancy or exotic birds. Interior of body is also transfer printed with a fancy bird. Touches of gliding survive around the finial and on the body. Stand is lozenge-shaped with shell molded edges and four transfer prints of exotic birds.
