DescriptionPocket chronometer: hinged, silver single case, enamel dial; seconds circle; steel hands. Balance cock with pierced table and engraved foot; lever escapement (not original); cylindrical pillars. The exterior case has been repaired on the back side, closing up the hole to wind the watch. The stem is also marked seperately "CD" and may also be replaced.Mark(s)"John Arnold & Son, London, Invt et Fect, No. 469/770" on backplate. Interior of the silver case is marked "TH" with a full set of London marks including the date letter of "S" for 1793 The stem is marked "CD" suggesting it may have been replaced.ProvenanceEx coll: Edward P.
