DescriptionFooted cup of challis form decorated in translucent enamels. An inverted bell shape bowl stands on a three ring stem and a high foot in the form of another, smaller bell. The decoration around the bowl is composed of peonies and other flowers amid green and blue rocks with colorful, detailed butterflies. The rim is gilt edged and is ringed by a fine sepia line on the exterior; a matching line underscored the decoration around the base of the bowl. In the stem, two smaller rings are defined by similar sepia lines, with the wide central ring embellished with black scrollwork and red and yellow flowers on a pale green ground. The foot is wrapped at its base by a sepia scroll band and above, by a finely detailed and very large spearhead type border in green edged with black. Full blossoms in rose and blue and demi-flowers in iron red decorate the border. Between the shoulder of the belled foot and the stem rings, jeweled cash symbols and swastikas in green, sepia, and gilt and green and black alternate.
