DescriptionChair upholstery, "Turkey work" (removed from chair of same number). Ghiordes knot; one shoot of weft after each row of knots; 56 knots per square inch. Colors: Ground - field and border, creamy-white. Pattern: yellow, pink brick-red, red, light green, dark green. The pattern of the field is one of interlaced scrolls bearing roses. The border contains angular interlacings.Label TextTurkey work was woven in England in a technique much like oriental carpets. It was fashionable for cushions and chair upholstry.
